BeeSeen’s Favorite Blogs

Working in SEO, SEM, and web marketing generally has us being online a lot. As such, we come across a lot of blogs and various websites that are often entertaining, helpful, inspirational, and down-right hilarious. We just wanted to take a little time and share some of our favorite blogs that we frequent as part of our professional habits or on our personal time.

In alphabetical particular order:

Bing Webmaster Center

Bing is a major player in search. As such, we like to keep up to date on what’s going on with Bing for SEO/SEM purposes.

Bleacher Report

Are you into sports? Some of us here at BeeSeen dabble in watching it. Bleacher Report is a great place to get your sports article fix from somewhere that isn’t ESPN.

Brian Solis

Brian Solis is an author and blogger in new media. The blog focuses primarily on social media converging with business strategy. A must read for anyone interested in SEO/SEM.

Cracked

Cracked claims to have been around since 1958, but we’re not so sure about that. One thing we are sure of, though, is that Cracked is a great source of entertainment, especially when it comes to their lists.

Dosh Dosh

Do you love e-marketing? Do you love anime? Well, Dosh Dosh is a fun e-marketing focused blog with an anime twist.

Engadget

We like to keep up with technology and there’s no finer source for tech news than Engadget. Whether it’s that latest smart phone, piece of gaming peripheral, or laptop you’ve been eyeing, Engadget is the place you want to visit to see if that thing maybe outdated in the next week or so.

Facebook Blog

If you’re going to take part in social media, it’s pretty important to have a Facebook presence. Get the latest scoop on what’s going with Facebook by following their blog.

Google Webmaster Central

Like Bing, if you’re in the SEO/SEM industry, it’s best to keep tabs on what Google is up to when it comes to their search engine. Google’s Webmaster Central Blog is just the place for any news that would affect webmasters.

Mashable

One of the bigger social media based blogs out there and is a great source of social media news. We follow it on a daily basis.

Matt Cutts

If you’re into SEO, you’ve probably heard of Matt Cutts. He’s only the head of Google’s Webspam team. As such, a lot of what he has to say and works on has to do with Google’s search algorithm, so yeah, it’s pretty important to follow him.

PostSecret

PostSecret is a site that posts a few postcards every Sunday that is sent to the author. The postcards are often sad, happy, funny, and inspirational. It’s spawned multiple books and art galleries that travel across the country.

Search Engine Land

Another important blog focused around SEO/SEM. It’s an industry staple, and we read it on a regular basis.

Seed The Web

Written by Shannon Yelland, Seed The Web is a great resource for tips, techniques, and anything else when it comes to online marketing, be it SEO, website optimization, social media, or even paid search.

Seth Godin’s Blog

Seth Godin is an author and expert in the marketing industry. His blog focuses and provides insights into e-marketing. Needless to say, a must read for anyone into SEM.

Stereogum

Are you into indie music? We sure are. Stereogum is a great source for indie music news. We enjoy getting the scoop on the latest break out band/artist and then promptly denouncing them shortly after for selling out. We like it before they made it big.

Twitter Blog

In the same vein as Facebook, if you’re taking part in social media, a Twitter presence is a must. The Twitter blog is where you can get the latest on what’s happening with the world of 140 characters.

Unnecessary Quotes

Do you ever see signs that use quotation marks when it’s unnecessary? And you notice sometimes they result in funny and questionable phrases/sentences? Well this site is a collection of those based on user submissions.

Website Magazine is a great place for news and information on the latest and greatest on anything pertaining to website success, including SEO, SEM, and analytics.
