Are You Using Instagram for Your Business?

Instagram is a very popular photo sharing mobile social platform.  The Instagram app is transforming the way people share experiences.  There are currently over 100 million registered users worldwide, only two years after its October 2010 release on the iOS platform.

Here are some tips from Vanessa Au of Spring Creek Group on using Instagram to bring your brand closer to your customers.

  1. Show Your Products & Services – Show a collection of products you offer.  For service-oriented businesses, show some of the equipment and supplies that play a role in the services you provide.
  2. Show How Your Products Are Made – Show the origins of products. Show photos of different stages of the manufacturing process.
  3. Bring Your Followers Behind the Scenes – Give your followers an exclusive backstage pass for a new product/service about to launch. Show photos of photo shoots, interviews, etc.
  4. Show What Your Products Can Do – Help consumers see new uses for products or services you      offer.  Invite user-generated content; i.e., have fans submit photos demonstrating how they are using  your products.  Share before and after photos.
  5. Give A Sneak Peak: Give your followers exclusive previews of products/services, or virtual tours of your new products, stores, production facilities or office locations.
  6. Show Your Office – Post photos that provide a typical day at your office, such as work areas,      brainstorming meetings or training sessions.
  7. Take Instagram With You – Take your followers wherever you go. Include photos to show your live itinerary at a trade show or event that you are attending or sponsoring.
  8. Introduce Employees – Introduce your fans to the people behind the brand.  Showcase employees of the week or month.
  9. Share Celebrity Sightings – Share photos of celebrities interacting with your brand.  Show them using your products or services. Or, show them supporting your brand at a sponsored event you are      hosting.

Businesses should jump on the Instagram band wagon.  Doing so can help organizations grow their customer base, increase awareness and visibility of their brand, promote engagement with their customers and gain popularity.
